Submission Policy/Guidelines
Lost Telegram Press is now accepting query letters to hear about new projects for publication.
We are happy to read queries about projects that are conceptual in nature. Projects that are not commonly seen in bookstores or are found in alternative book shops are what we are looking to read. That may seem vague but it is meant to allow you the room to show us what you have to say.
For example:
Collage projects: yes
Conceptual poetry: yes
Visual poetry: yes
Visual narrative: yes
There are a lot more creative projects that we can list but it is really up to you to tell us your path in the best way possible. They are your ideas.
We are also interested in classic poetry, plays, short story collections and novels, so let us know of the project and if we are interested we will ask for more information. Beat poetry and novels are also of high interest to us.
In your query letter please include:
Full Legal Name
Pseudonym (if any)
Address (needed for potential contract)
Website (if any)
Social Media (if any)
Tell us briefly about the project and include the title and word count (if word oriented). Please also state the genre and/or style. Please also tell us about your publication history and include a short bio.
You can attach a letter in PDF format or send it all in the body of an email to save money on stamps for you.
In the subject line PLEASE STATE: For Submission to Lost Telegram Press
PLEASE BE PREPARED TO SUBMIT A MARKETING PLAN. This can be a totally-D.I.Y. plan but it is a must. Hundreds of hours (months of work) go into preparing everyone's projects into works that best represent them and their ideals. We ask you to be prepared to put in the same hours promoting your work with us.
Thank you for your interest.
For reviewers: reviewers for magazines, blogs, podcasts and so forth, you are welcome to a free audio or electronic book copy. Please email us through the linked button below. You must include a link to your publication, the name of the person writing the review and a brief timeline and spiel about what you look for in books so that we can make sure we are getting you the best material to fit your needs. Thank you!
